The flagship consumer facing website for King of Shaves...


By sales, King of Shaves is the second largest shaving hardware and software company in the UK. Founded in 1993, they are regarded as a true entrepreneurial success. In under two decades they have grown from a kitchen table business to a global enterprise with a retail presence throughout the nation. Not satisfied with it’s UK success, the King of Shaves now operates in international territories: Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and most importantly, the USA.

I was invited to re-build their flagship consumer facing website. The existing site was based on older web technology and it was time for a refresh and a dust down. The brief was interesting… build the site so it looked like the original but use a much more modern CMS engine. The layouts were tricky because I had to retain the look and feel of the old site and use new publishing techniques – specifically responsive design so it can be viewed on iPads, iPhones, Smart Phones and other media devices. The majority of Flash content was re-worked into HTML5 / CSS3 so it can render on modern devices, especially Apple devices that do not support Flash.

My client now manages and publishes content to the site, suffice to say, they are very happy, especially with the budget it was produced on!
