GREAT LOOKING WEBSITES THAT WORK
I design and produce really good looking and functional websites that work. My main specialism is eCommerce websites and online shops with the added alchemy of great design and excellent production. That’s it really but I know you want to find out a little more about what they are, who they’re for and how I do it…
I built my first commercial website in 2001 after being let down by a freelance developer and was left with a deadline and website to build. I’d already built and designed the brand, printed the stationery, commissioned the hand carved signage and produced concepts for a brochure. So the foundations were in place. Finally, I had to get my hands dirty and build the website. My client loved it and I decided to offer website design and production as a service.
As a web designer in Devon and Cornwall, I build websites in WordPress as it’s the leading Content Management System. It’s free to install but does need a template and some tinkering to produce an excellent, good looking and functional website. That’s where I step in and “do my stuff”. The bit you will like is that these websites are far lower cost than “static” websites. A static website cannot be updated by the client – it needs a designer or developer to carry out the updates. Some clients require a static website but most want a site they can update easily and quickly.
EXAMPLES OF MY WORK

Dan Pyne | Artist | WebsiteI had already built the Little Barn Goldsithney holiday let website for Dan and his wife, Amanda. Dan approached me to build a portfolio and gallery website that would portray the beauty of his work. Added to this, Dan also sells prints of his work… that’s where the eCommerce online shop came into being.

SEOThe majority of my recent websites are Search Engine Optimised. You can choose the level of SEO you wish me to undertake during the website production phase. You can also employ me to manage your web marketing strategy. SEO put simply, it is the clever content and authoring that enables your site to be found on the web. As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience.
CMSContent Management Systems (CMS) and WordPress. Websites you can publish your own stuff into. Also known as self publish websites.
FlashAnimation and interactive content. The whizzy animation stuff.
Hosting, Domains & ManagementI can register a name for your website (the domain), provide a place for your website to live (hosting), look after it and back it up (keep it safe).
